Can I bring my own water toys?
- Yes, we encourage you to. Seasonally, we have a private dock that you can tie your equipment too; however, you are doing so at your own risk. Liability waivers must be signed prior to your arrival for accidental or negligence in and around the water and cottage.
What bedding is there for me and my guests to use?
- You will need to bring your own comforters. Sheets, pillows, pillowcases will be there for you to use.
Do I need to bring my own blankets and towels?
- You and each registered guest will have a shower towel, hand towels and wash clothes (indoor only) provided for you. All blankets and outdoor towels you will need to bring with you.
What if my guests list changes?
- Notification should be given to the owners in writing by emailing info@skippingrocklakehouse.com prior to your arrival. Once we review the changes, additions, we will send you written approval.
Will I have unlimited water use?
- You will have use of the water of course; however, the cottage is run on a cistern system. Therefore, overuse may cause a lack of water. As owners, we will ensure there is enough water for your stay to avoid running out however, showers, running the sink constantly etc. should be kept to a minimum.
Can we drink the water?
- It is best to bring bottled water to drink due to the water supply in the cistern.
Will toilet paper, cleaning supplies, shower supplies, outdoor towels be supplied?
- Toilet paper – yes, septic safe toilet paper for your stay. Cleaning – yes, simple cleaning supplies for spills and simple messes. Shower supplies – A towel for each registered guest for indoor use. You supply your own beach towels.
Is there a first aid kit on site?
- Yes absolutely - in the bathroom with the shower, in the white box with the red cross on it.
Should I report damage or anything unsatisfactory?
Should I bring my own wood for a fire?
- Yes. The fire pit is there for your use. You will need to supply your own wood.
How many cars can fit in the driveway?
- 3 cars – do not park in the boat launch beside the cottage. That is not our property. ****please read full parking policy****
Is there an indoor fireplace?
- No - Our fireplace has been turned into a beautiful display piece for the Lake House.
What do I do in case of a power outage?
- Power Outages happen on occasion. There is a breaker box located beside the bathroom and the stairs to the master suite. If it is a fuse that has blown, please located the breaker box and reset it. If it is a full outage, there are candles and a lighter to help you see. Please notify us if this happens during your stay.
Are there non-motorized water toys that are for guests use?
- We encourage our guests to bring their own, however, seasonally we do have 4 kayaks (2 adult and 2 child ones) and 2 Paddleboards. Please follow all water safety protocol including life jacket use (we have some or you can bring your own to guarantee fit). Lake Erie is a Great Lake and can go from a still calm to windy with waves with changes in the weather.
